Comcast to Add 'Search' to On Demand

Comcast, the nation's largest cable operator, will soon add a Search feature to its On Demand service. It will enable Comcast's digital subscribers to search among the thousands of On Demand programs by actor, title or even a keyword.
No launch dates are available, but the addition is expected shortly.
The On Demand search function is a precursor to what television will look like when high-speed Internet connections are available on set-tops and TVs in the next few years. Internet TV will allow cable and satellite operators to store scores of thousands of shows and movies on Net-based servers. And with a video search engine, similar to Comcast's upcoming feature, viewers will be able to locate programming choices by keyword.

This is for SA Boxes only. An official reply from comcast sent me this e-mail:
We apologize for the delay in responding to your inquiry. We had to approach our Senior Marketing Staff to obtain a response to your e-mail - hence the delay.
The response is: "The guide enhancement is only for the Scientific Atlanta (SA) platform and is not available for Philly Metro or CPA Regions [namely, your area] since we are on a Motorola platform. I am not aware of any current plans to develop a search feature on the Motorola platform."
Please feel free to contact us if you have any more questions.
Thank you for choosing Comcast.
Sincerely,
David
