Washington, D.C. (August 18, 2006) -- EchoStar's Dish Network has added Food Network HD to its roster of High-Definition TV channels.

The satcaster now offers 30 national high-def channels, more than any other TV provider.

Food Network HD is a high-def simulcast of the network's regular lineup of food-themed programs such as Boy Meets Grill and Everyday Italian.
"The addition of Food Network HD helps further compliment our industry-leading lineup of high definition programming," said Eric Sahl, senior vice president of Programming for DISH Network. "DISH Network offers twice as many national HD channels as most other providers, allowing customers to enjoy a better TV watching experience."

Food Network HD, channel 9462 on Dish Network, is available to customers who subscribe to the company's Bronze programming package, which starts at $29.99 a month.

Swanni Sez:
EchoStar continues to position itself as the leader in high-def. However, if the satcaster does not find a quick solution to its recent DVR patent scrap with TiVo, it may not matter.
