The Band Out of Their 'Gourd'

OK gang, this Sunday on HDNet (October 14, 8 p.m. ET) I have a great concert set up for you -- it's all High Def ( duh) and it has 5.1 surround sound. The band is "The Gourds" from Austin Texas; they play a great mix of jam-rock-country.

But the real scoop is the personality pot-pie these guys bring to the stage! They love to drink and they love to joke. The first time I interviewed these guys, it was like 'herding cats.' I would talk to one guy while another was digging through a fanny pack trying to roll a cigarette making tons of noise. This second meeting with the band was just as crazy. I don't think we got a single complete sentence or answer out of the band since they were fooling around, wrestling and rambling about whiskey the entire time. But who cares!?!?! When the curtains open and the lights flash on the stage, the concert is awesome, full or energy and makes total sense!
