Amazon.com is now selling a Samsung 42-inch Plasma HDTV for $999 -- more than $400 off the suggested list price. The flat-panel set, model HPT4264, delivers a picture resolution of 1,024 x 768 pixels, has a contrast ratio of 15,000 to 1 and has three HDMI inputs.

The set also has 18 bit color processing, anti-glare technology and it's ranked #484 today in Amazon's best-selling electronics category.
