Amazon.com is now selling a Samsung 50-inch Plasma HDTV for $1,299 -- $560 off the suggested list price. The flat-panel set has a contrast ratio of 15,000 to 1, three HDMI inputs, 1365 x 768 picture resolution and a high-def tuner inside so you can watch your local channels in HD with an antenna.

The Samsung HDTV, model HPT5054, is ranked #549 today in Amazon's list of best selling electronics. Amazon is also offering 18-month no-interest financing on select high-def sets.
