Amazon.com is now selling a Samsung 56-inch 1080p HDTV for $1,799 -- $500 off the suggested list price. The DLP set, model HLT5687S, features Samsung's slim LED light engine, 10,000 to 1 contrast ratio, 1,920 x 1,080 picture resolution and 3 HDMI inputs.

The set is also just 14 inches deep, has two stereo speakers with 10 watts apiece and SRS TruSurround XT virtual surround.
