Toshiba HD DVD Player: $79
Toshiba's HD-A3 HD-DVD player is now available for $79 at Amazon.com.
The e-commerce site lowered the price again today from the suggested retail of $149 following Toshiba's announcement last week that it will exit the HD DVD business at the end of March.
But not only will Toshiba's third-generation 1080i HD-DVD player display HD DVDs, it will also upconvert standard-def DVDs so they will offer an improved picture.
Most upconvertering DVD players cost more than $79 at retail.
The HD-A3 HD-DVD player can display high-def video in 1080i and 720p and it's ranked #1 today in Amazon's best-selling DVD players category.
