Philips today announced that it has
now manufactured one million "Ambilight" flat-screen LCD
and Plasma HDTVs.
The set includes Philips "Ambilight Full Surround,"
which surrounds the screen with enhanced color. The
feature is now the centerpiece of a Philips TV ad
campaign starring the sci-fi character The Incredible
Hulk.

The company believes Ambilight adds both style and
entertainment to the viewing experience. Philips says
consumer satisfaction surveys show that 88 percent of
Ambilight owners rate it as either "excellent" or "very
good."
“This
demonstrates that Ambilight has clearly become a hit
with consumers," said Rudy Provoost, Philips CEO. "It
not only enhances the overall viewing experience but it
also makes watching TV easier on the eyes.
