A Blu-ray Player Under $50 With Wi-Fi?
By Swanni

Washington, D.C. (June 30, 2013) - Editor's Note: TV's Answer Man, aka Swanni, takes your questions regarding how to best use the latest products and services in TV technology. If you have a question about TV technology, ask TV's Answer Man by sending an e-mail to swann@tvpredictions.com

Q. I've never seen a Blu-ray player in operation, but I've heard good things about it. I would like to try one without spending much money. Is there one under $50 that has streaming? -- Roger, Houston, Texas.

Roger, a Blu-ray high-def disc offers the best HD picture on the market. Better than cable. Better than satellite. Better than streaming. Better than anything.

But most Blu-ray players with Wi-Fi built-in range in price from around $75 to $100. However, I have found one for you that now costs just $45.95. Yes, $45.95. (Prices subject to change.)

It's a Magnavox Blu-ray player and you can buy it
Here.

Now at that price, I can't guarantee you that it will deliver the same quality as a Blu-ray player closer to $100. By example, while it offers built-in Wi-Fi for streaming, the only streaming service you can access on the Magnavox player is Vudu.

(Nothing against Vudu; it offers an excellent choice of HD movies, but you have to order them separately for around $3.99 to $5.99 each. Unlike Netflix, Vudu doesn't offer a monthly plan.)

But at $45.99, the Magnavox player is an expensive way to test out the benefits of Blu-ray. (Note: there may be an Amazon shipping fee around $10.)
