Q. I am very interested in getting a Kindle Fire HD for the summer to read books and catch up on TV shows. Is there any chance that Amazon will lower the price? -- Tank, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Tank, I am happy to report that, for a limited time only, Amazon has lowered the price of the Kindle Fire HD, 16GB edition, from $199 to $169. (This edition also includes ads on the lock page.)

The 7-inch Kindle Fire HD can play TV shows and music from such Net TV services as Netflix and Amazon Prime. It also can play music and games and it can even take photos with a front-facing HD camera and it can deliver video calls via Skype.

And, of course, you can read books on the Kindle Fire HD as well.

The tablet has a customer rating of 4.2 stars out of a possible five based on more than 14,000 reviews. Note: Amazon has not said how long this offer will last so act fast.
