By Swanni

Washington, D.C. (December 18, 2012) -- TVPredictions.com today begins a new feature called, 'TV's Answer Man.' Here we will take your questions regarding how to best use the latest products and services in TV technology.

The feature will tackle everything from how to improve your HDTV picture to how to set up a wireless Smart TV connection to the advantages of using an HDMI cable to you name it. TV's Answer Man, aka Swanni, is committed to helping you make your television experience easier and more enjoyable.

If you have a question about TV technology, ask TV's Answer Man by sending an e-mail to
swann@tvpredictions.com. We can not guarantee you that every question will be answered in this forum, but we will do our best.

Our first question for TV's Answer Man comes from Mary of Lafayette, Louisiana.

"Swanni, I've been thinking of buying a 3D Blu-ray Player for Christmas. But I don't own a 3D TV. My question to you is: Will I be able to watch 3D movies on the Blu-ray player on a regular, non-3D TV?" -- Mary, Lafayette, Louisiana.

The answer is no, but don't be embarrassed by asking the question. I've been asked by several readers whether you need a 3D HDTV if get a 3D Blu-ray player. It's not surprising that some people would think so. The industry, which rarely communicates clearly, simply says the player is a 3D player. Why wouldn't some people think it could display 3D images regardless of what television you have? In fact, I suspect many 3D Blu-ray buyers are making the purchase because they think it's an inexpensive way to bring 3D to the home.

But, again, the answer is no.
