NFL Sunday Ticket: Can I Order Just One Game?
By Swanni

Washington, D.C. (October 1, 2014) - Editor's Note: TV's Answer Man, aka Swanni, takes your questions regarding how to best use the latest products and services in TV technology. If you have a question about TV technology, ask TV's Answer Man by sending an e-mail to swann@tvpredictions.com

Q. I live in Boston and a friend of mine from Baltimore is coming into town this weekend. He's a big Ravens fans. Is there anyway to order the Ravens-Colts game from DIRECTV on the NFL Sunday Ticket without buying the entire season? The entire season is too rich for my blood. -- Betty, Boston.

Betty, as you note, the entire season of DIRECTV's NFL Sunday Ticket is expensive. If you purchase the package now, it will cost a whopping $239. And that price doesn't include the extras like access to the games online.

But I have good news for you. There is a way to watch the Colts-Ravens game without ordering the entire season.

The bad news: It's not cheap, either.
But here's how it works.

This Sunday, if you go to DIRECTV's channel 705, you can use your remote to order just that day's games, which will include the Ravens-Colts game. The cost for one day only is $49.99, but you will get the Sunday Ticket, every single game, for the entire day. You also get access to the Red Zone Channel, the Fantasy Zone Channel, Game Mix Channel and Player/Tracker alerts.

To order by remote, you will need your set-top connected to a phone line. If your phone line is not connected, you can call DIRECTV at 1-531-5000 to order by phone. However, there is an additional $5 charge for ordering by phone.

There is no requirement to subscribe to the Ticket beyond the week you order. So if you really, really want to watch the Ravens-Colts game, this is a decent alternative, although the $49.99 addition to your monthly bill may still smart a bit.
