Will There Be a Dexter Spin-Off?
By Allison Moore

Washington, D.C. (July 31, 2013) - Editor's Note: TV's Answer Woman, aka Allison Moore, takes your questions regarding TV stars and shows. If you have a question about TV entertainment, ask TV's Answer Woman by sending an e-mail to swann@tvpredictions.com

Q. I am going to miss Dexter when it goes off the air next month? Is there any chance it will return for another season? -- Reed, Cleveland, Ohio.

Reed, yes, Dexter's final episode is scheduled for September 22 and, according to Showtime, there's no chance of another season.

However, at yesterday's Television Critics Association meeting, Showtime officials teased reporters with the possibility of a Dexter spin-off.

Showtime entertainment president David Nevin was asked about the premium channel hiring Dexter's producers to develop a new show. He then suggested there could be a Dexter spin-off by saying, "Draw your own conclusions
," meaning the Dexter producers could be working on a new Dexter show.

The spin-off obviously would not include Michael C. Hall as Dexter, but it's conceivable that Jennifer Carpenter, who plays his sister Deb, could be the focus of the new show. Who knows? Maybe she will continue her brother's killing spree at another venue.
