Arizona Diamondbacks: World's Largest HDTV Screen?
The baseball team says its new Jumbotron screen will be 144 feet wide.

The University of Texas last year unveiled a high-def display 55 feet tall and 134 feet wide at Royal Memorial Stadium, the home field for its college football team.
But the Diamondbacks, who play in Major League Baseball's Western Division, says its stadium scoreboard screen will be 144 feet wide and 55 feet high, according to the Associated Press.
"Fans will have a difficult time taking their eyes off of the crystal-clear picture before them," Diamondbacks president Derrick Hall told the AP.

The University of Texas HD Jumbotron is 134 feet wide.
The board will cost an estimated $10 to $12 million to produce and install, the team says, and it will be 900 square feet larger than the next largest scoreboard in baseball, which is in Atlanta's Turner Field. The Turner HD scoreboard, which is 71 feet tall and 79 feet wide, costs $10 million. (The Jumbotron at Texas's stadium cost $8 million.)
"This is an important addition to an already fan-friendly ballpark," Diamondbacks president Derrick Hall told the AP.
AP reports that the board will be paid for by Maricopa County, which owns the Diamondbacks' stadium complex.
