The Avengers Comes to Blu-ray On September 25

Washington, D.C. (July 2, 2012) -- Waiting to see the blockbuster hit The Avengers on Blu-ray? Walt Disney Studios has announced that the movie will be released as a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack for $39.99 suggested retail on September 25.

Amazon is now taking pre-orders for the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack for $35.99.

The film, which stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Mark Ruffalo as The Incredible Hulk, has taken in more than $600 million in box office receipts in the U.S. alone. Only Avatar and The Titanic has done better in the U.S.

Disney says it will also release a DVD edition of The Avengers for $29.99 and a four-disc, 3D Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy edition for $49.99. (Amazon is taking pre-orders for the four-disc edition for $34.99.)

The Blu-ray edition will include several supplemental features including deleted scenes and a commentary from director Joss Whedon.
