BIO HD Comes to DIRECTV On Nov. 28
The high-def channel will be simulcast of standard-def feed.

That's according to an article by Multichannel News.
The Biography Channel airs a diverse lineup, including documentaries on famous personalities and true-life stories of mystery and intrigue.
DIRECTV will be the first provider of the new BIO HD, according to its parent, A&E Television Networks.
But David Zagin, executive vice president of distribution for AETN, tells the publication that he expects others will follow once they create more system space. Some cable operators are lacking bandwidth to add more high-def channels at this time.
Zagin says half of BIO HD's primetime programming, including episodes from the Biography series, will be filmed in high-def. The rest will be "upconverted" to fill the widescreen format.
The executive said the network will offer 65 percent high-def content by early-to-mid 2008, according to Multichannel News.
