Could it be true? You bet.
Retailers are expected to offer those prices the day after Thanksgiving, better known as Black Friday, the unofficial start of the holiday shopping season.
The discount prices are usually available for one day only -- and often include restrictions on time and supply.

The price of Vizio's Plasma TV will be cut on Black Friday.
BlackFriday.info, a web site that tracks the one-day shopping phenomenon, has obtained early copies of "Black Friday" print ads that will appear in newspapers during Thanksgiving week. And, according to the web site, High-Definition TV prices will be slashed dramatically on the big day.
