HDTV: Wal-Mart Reveals 'Black Friday' Deals
The retailer will offer several lower-cost sets.

Washington, D.C. (November 14, 2007) -- Wal-Mart this week said that its flat-screen HDTV sales rose 110 percent in the third quarter. And it appears that the discount retailer will try to boost set sales even further on Black Friday.
CNN/Money reports that Wal-Mart will offer several high-def sets at special discounts on the day after Thanksgiving (Nov. 23), better known as Black Friday, the unofficial start of the holiday shopping season.
For instance:
Philips 50-inch Plasma HDTV -- $1,397
RCA 46-inch LCD HDTV -- $1,196
Polaroid 42-inch 1080p LCD HDTV -- $798
Sanyo 37-inch LCD HDTV -- $847.
The web site reports that the deals will be available on Black Friday from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The discount prices will likely be available for one day only -- and may include restrictions on time and supply. Discount hunters also will have to contend with the frenzied atmosphere of Black Friday which some shoppers view as a day of combat.
CNN/Money reports that Wal-Mart will officially release its Black Friday plans next Monday. In addition, it will reveal more discounts on Thanksgiving Day.
Wal-Mart is also planning to sell a XBox360 video console with five bonus games for $279.92.
