The Blu-ray Disc Association, which includes the studios and CE companies that back the high-def disc format, have announced that it will give five free Blu-ray movies to anyone who purchases a Blu-ray player from July 1 to September 30.
The five movies can be selected from roughly 20 choices which include Pearl Harbor, Babel, Underworld: Evolution, Transporter 2 and Black Rain.
The discs will be sent to the Blu-ray owner after he/she submits a coupon via the mail.
The special offer covers all Blu-ray players, although Panasonic had already announced a "five free" deal for purchasers of its new $599 Blu-ray player.
HD DVD supporters have offered five free movies for several weeks as part of its promotional campaign for the Blu-ray high-def rival.
