Since the beginning of the year, Blu-ray disc sales have doubled
its rival HD DVD. And, according to Nielsen VideoScan, last week
was no different.
Blu-ray accounted for 71 percent of all HDTV DVD title sales last week, compared to 29 percent for HD DVD.
That's according to an article by Reuters.
The news service says Blu-ray was aided by the release of the Ben Stiller comedy, A Night at the Museum, which is available only on Blu-ray.

HD DVD backers say their favored format will perform better in the coming weeks with the release of dozens of new titles between now and summer. However, Blu-ray will also benefited from new title releases, including several box office hits.
In standard def DVD sales, A Night at the Museum sold six million discs last week, making it number one for the week.
Deja Vu, the Denzel Washington action film, was second while The Queen, which stars Helen Mirren, was third. Smokin;' Aces, last week's number one seller, was fourth.
