This is a big week for new Blu-ray
releases with two Best Picture Oscar nominees and a box office
smash leading the way.
The Best Picture Oscar nominees? Zero Dark Thirty, the story of
the hunt for Osama Bin Laden, and Les Miserables, based on the
hit Broadway musical. Zero Dark Thirty will be released
tomorrow, March 19, and is now available for $22.99 at Amazon.

Les Miserables will be released on Friday, March 22, and is now
available for pre-order at Amazon for $19.99. Click

The list of new Blu-ray releases includes some other top
attractions, too, including the box office smash, The Hobbit,
available on both 2D and 3D; Rust and Bone; Katy Perry: Part of
Me; This Is 40 (released Friday); and Love For Levon.
But don't forget to take a
look at the classic 1973 Terrence Malick film, Badlands, which
starred Martin Sheen and Sissy Spacek. Based loosely on the
Charles Starkweather murder spree across the Midwest in the
1950s, Malick expertly combines beautiful cinematography with a
lean but powerful storyline to weave a spell over the viewer.
Badelands was the auteur's first film and it's arguably his best
thanks to the understated performances form Sheen and Spacek.
(Did they really look this young?!)
