Cablevision Gets Rights to Hallmark Movie Channel HD
The cable operator signs carriage deal with parent company.

Washington, D.C. (April 29, 2008) -- Cablevision has signed a carriage agreement with Crown Media Holdings that gives the cable operator the rights to air Hallmark Movie Channel HD.

The companies made the announcement today, but there was no word on when Cablevision will actually add the high-def network.

The carriage agreement also allows for Cablevision to broadcast the standard-def version of the Hallmark Movie Channel.

Hallmark Movie Channel, which launched this month, offers a lineup of family-friendly films.

We are very happy to announce this renewal of our affiliation agreement with Cablevision which, because of its service area in and around New York City, is a particularly important partner in our ability to showcase our industry-leading, family-friendly programming, said Henry Schleiff, president and CEO of Crown Media Holdings, which owns the Hallmark networks.
