TVPredictions.com

Washington, D.C. (October 29, 2009) -- Cablevision says it will hike the average cost of its TV programming packages next year by 3.7 percent, according to Reuters.

The cable operator, which is engaged in a battle with Verizon's FiOS TV for New York area subscribers, added that its Internet and phone service rates will not change.

Verizon has targeted the New York area, forcing Cablevision to increase its HD lineup and bolster other services. The telco also recently raised the price of one of its programming packages.
