ABC Cancels The Assets
By Allison Moore

Washington, D.C. (January 11, 2014) - ABC has cancelled the low-rated drama, The Assets, after just two episodes, writes Variety.

The show, which was designed to be an eight-part miniseries, generated slightly less than three million viewers in its second episode after debuting at 3.8 million.  TV Guide writes that repeats of Shark Tank will replace The Assets in the Thursday, 10 p.m. schedule for the next three weeks.

The Assets, which was based loosely on real-life events, chronicled the CIA's efforts to find a double-agent in the 1980s.

It is unclear if the last six episodes of the miniseries will ever air, either on ABC on via another medium such as the network's web site or a streaming service such as Netflix.
