CW Cancels 90210 After 5 Seasons

By Allison Moore

Washington, D.C. (March 1, 2013) -- The CW has announced that it has cancelled the frothy drama, 90210, after five seasons.

The sequel to the 1990s series, Beverly Hills 90210, will conclude its fifth season in May and then get the ax.

"The CW had five great seasons with America's favorite zip code, 90210," said CW President Mark Pedowitz. "
“I’d like to thank the talented cast, producers, and crew for all their hard work and dedication to the series. We are very proud of the West Beverly High alumni.”

90210, which featured young, budding stars such as AnnaLynne McCord and Shenae Grimes, as well as occasional appearances by players from the 1990s series, has averaged only about 1.2 million viewers in its fifth (and now final) season.

Entertainment Weekly writes that 90210 has seven episodes left and the final show will air on May 13.
