ABC Cancels Mind Games

By Allison Moore

Washington, D.C. (March 28, 2014) -- ABC has cancelled the drama, Mind Games, after just five episodes, the Hollywood Reporter writes.

The show, which starred Christian Slater and Steve Zahn as two brothers who use psychological manipulation to help people solve their problems, couldn't solve the Nielsens, generating just two million viewers in its final airing.

ABC said it would replace Mind Games immediately in its Tuesday night time slot with repeats of Resurrection and then Celebrity Wife Swap will fill in starting April 15.

For Mind Games creator Kyle Killen, the cancellation marks the third time one of his shows has suffered a quick demise. The writer-producer's Lone Star was pulled by Fox after just two episodes and Awake, starring Jason Isaacs, was cancelled by NBC after a short run.

The Killen shows, although widely praised by critics, often dealt with complex plot points, leaving viewers confused.
