CBS Television Cancels The Arsenio Hall Show

By Allison Moore

Washington, D.C. (June 1, 2014) -- CBS Television has cancelled Arsenio Hall's syndicated late night talk show after just one season, Deadline.com writes.

The cancellation is surprising because CBS announced last February that the show would be renewed for a second season. Longtime friend Jay Leno even made an appearance on Hall's show to inform him of the renewal.

But Deadline.com reports that Hall's celebrated return to late night has been marred by poor ratings, particularly since news of the renewal. In recent shows, The Arsenio Hall Show managed just a 0.7 rating;

The cancellation is effective immediately since the show has wrapped production

"While there are many loyal fans of the show, the series did not grow its audience enough to continue," a CBS spokesman said, according to Deadline.
