CNN Cancels The Next List

By Allison Moore

Washington, D.C. (September 18, 2013) - CNN has cancelled The Next List, the Saturday afternoon show that profiled the nation's top science and technology innovators, reports MediaBistro.com

The show, which was hosted by CNN medical reporter, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, debuted in November 2011.

The cancellation is the latest in a series of changes at the news network since former NBC chief Jeff Zucker became president of CNN. Zucker has changed the on-air team at the network morning show, shuffled some afternoon programs and hosts, and returned a one-time CNN fixture, Crossfire, eight years after it was cancelled.

There's no suggestion that Gupta's position at CNN is in jeopardy, however, although Next List's executive producer, Jim McGinniss, will leave CNN after 25 years at the network.

Next List airs at 2;30 p.m. ET on Saturday. It's not known when its last show will air.
