That's according to an article in Broadcasting & Cable magazine.
The publication reports that KCAL, a CBS-owned independent station in LA, will also switch to high-def news on April 21.
KCBS will switch office headquarters on Sunset Blvd to the CBS Studio Center lot in Studio City, the magazine says.

The two stations collectively broadcast nearly 12 hours of local newscasts every day and officials say the switch has been challenging.
“It's a new
environment, new systems, new technology, but
there's no time to regroup,” Patrick McClenahan,
KCBS/KCAL's senior vice president, told B&C. "You
get everyone trained, and you hit the ground
running.”
Station officials would not reveal the total cost of
the switch to high-def news. But the high-def
coverage will include field reports and graphics.
KABC, the ABC affiliate in LA, and KTLA, another
independent station there, have already begun
broadcasting local newscasts in high-def.
CBS Television Stations President/CEO Tom Kane says
high-def news will provide a better "viewing
experience," although he says that people may not
tune in just because it's in HD.
“It's utility viewing, as opposed to event viewing,"
Kane says.
He adds that all CBS owned and operated stations
will broadcast the news in HD in the next year.
