CBS to Air 'Final Four' In 3-D In Theaters

Washington, D.C. (March 10, 2010) -- CBS says it will air a 3-D broadcast of this year's college basketball 'Final Four' in 100 movie theaters across the country.

The event will be the first time that CBS has produced a program in 3-D. (Fox last year aired a 3-D version of college football's championship game in movie theaters.)

Cinedigm Theaters will hold the event, which will start at 6 p.m. ET on April 3. Then, two nights later on April 5, the theaters will air a 3-D version of the championship game, starting at 9 p.m. ET.

However, the theater chain has not decided which theaters will show the games in 3-D.

"Cinedigm's experience, having brought the 2009 BCS Championship and the 2009 NBA All-Star Saturday Night events to theaters in live 3-D, has shown us that fans who attend will feel as though they have courtside seats," said Cinedigm CEO Bud Mayo.
