Washington, D.C. (June 27, 2012) --

The Sportsman Channel announced today that Charter Communications has added its High-Definition simulcast channel in Missouri.

In addition, Charter plans to add the high-def Sportsman in northern California, Washington, Minnesota and New England later this summer.

"Sportsman HD is part of a robust selection of quality HD programming we are adding for our customers' enjoyment," Charter senior vice president Allan Samson stated in a press release.  "Adding a significant amount of new HD content is an important part of our most recent step in the evolution of Charter TV."

Sportsman Channel CEO Gavin Harvey added:  "Charter is a valued provider and we are excited to announce the ongoing expansion of Sportsman HD throughout Charter's footprint,. Charter places a high priority on HD, and we look forward to continuing to offer the most entertaining and informative programming-in stunning HD-for today's American sportsman, as well as continuing to raise the bar with new, innovative and original programming."

Charter, which has lagged behind its rivals in HD channels for several years, recently has boosted its HD channel lineup in several markets, climbing over 100 in some areas.
