That's according to an article by High Def Digest.
The publication reports that Columbia House, which until now has only carried standard definition DVDs, says at its web site that "we plan to begin carrying both Blu-ray and HD DVD discs in the fall of 2007."
Columbia House sells audio and video products as part of its club membership. Consumers are usually invited to purchase several items for as little as one cent if they agree to buy one product at regular price each month for a period of time.
If the report is true, it will help further acceptance of the new HDTV DVD formats which have struggled due to high player prices and consumer confusion.
High Def Digest also reports that the Columbia House web site has also added a instructional primer on high-def technology.
The publication cautions, however, that Columbia has yet to issue a press release confirming the addition of high-def disc titles.
