Is Comcast Adding CNN HD & USA HD?
The cable operator posts a classified notice in a Houston newspaper.
By Swanni
The cable operator last week posted a legal notice in the Houston Chronicle's classified section saying it will add several high-def channels on October 23, 2007.
The cable operator's franchise agreement requires it to post a legal notice whenever it changes its channel lineup.
The list of new channels coming to Houston includes several already added (or soon to be added) to other Comcast markets, such as National Geographic HD, HGTV HD and TBS HD.
But the legal notice also says Comcast will add CNN HD and USA Network HD in Houston. The cable operator has yet to officially announce those channel additions.
It's unclear when Comcast will add those channels to other markets.
Here's the entire legal notice that Comcast posted in the September 16 issue of the Houston Chronicle. The item was also posted at LegalNotice.org:
"Comcast of Houston will be making changes to its channel lineup, as follows. Effective 10/16/07, the following channels will be moved: TBS from channel 31 to channel 51, Spike TV from channel 32 to channel 68, Women's Entertainment (WE) from channel 48 to Digital Cable channel 350, Golf from channel 68 to channel 32, ABC Family from channel 70 to channel 48, Court TV from channel 71 to channel 67, FX from channel 72 to channel 31, MSNBC from channel 73 to channel 80. Effective 10/23/07, the following new HD channels will be available: National Geographic HD on channel 283, USA HD on channel 284, A&E HD on channel 285, History HD on channel 286, HGTV HD on channel 287, Food HD on channel 288, CNN HD on channel 299, TBS HD on channel 303. The Fox Business Channel will be available on channel 234."
