Consumer Reports: The 11 Best LCD HDTVs?
The magazine rates new sets for their high-def picture.
By Swanni
The question is guaranteed to spark immediate debate among high-def enthusiasts, some of whom may say global sales leader Samsung, North American sales leader Vizio or perhaps Sony or Sharp.
But in this month's issue of Consumer Reports, the magazine's staff has attempted to solve the mystery by rating 37 recent LCD models.
And, according to the publication, 11 of the sets reviewed delivered an "excellent" HD picture: 3 Samsungs, 3 Sony sets; 3 Toshiba sets; 1 LG model; and 1 Panasonic set.
Consumer Reports rated the HD picture on 21 LCD sets as "very good" while five were rated as "good."
Here are the 11 LCD HDTVs given an "excellent" rating for their high-def picture in this month's issue of Consumer Reports. (Note: The unbolded price is suggested retail.)
