AT&T Subs Can Watch Cubs From Any View
By Swanni
Washington, D.C. (May 11, 2011) --
AT&T U-Verse subscribers in Chicago can now watch the Chicago
Cubs lose via the camera angle of their choosing.
To be less glib, AT&T and WGN American, which has the rights to
broadcast Cubs games, has launched a new interactive app that
allows U-Verse viewers to pick which camera angle to watch
during the game.
Called Chicago Cubs Multiview, the feature is only available in
the Chicago area but it includes the normal WGN feed as well as
six alternate camera views.
The multi-view feature, which has long been a favorite of
Interactive TV enthusiasts, has become more popular with the
mainstream in recent years. DIRECTV has used it to present
different camera angles of The Masters golf tournament and the
Wimbledon tennis tournament.
In Chicago, U-Verse customers who subscribe to the service's
U100 package and above can use the app. The multi-view feature
debuted last night during the Cubs-Cardinals game.
Yes, the Cardinals won, 6-4,
bringing the Cubs record to
15-19.
