That's according to an article by Multichannel News.
The legal action is the latest salvo in the war between cable and satellite over a multitude of HD-related issues.
DIRECTV and Time Warner have locked horns in a lawsuit over HD picture quality and the satcaster has also separately sued Comcast for an ad saying high-def viewers prefer its HD picture to DIRECTV.
In this filing, Comcast accuses DIRECTV of 'outrageous conduct" for running the installer ad, although the satcaster says it's discontinued the campaign. Comcast says the ad is false because the survey of installers was unscientific and misreported.
DIRECTV has denied the charge, according to Multichannel News.
“The television advertisements that are the subject of Comcast's TRO motion … were limited to a few local markets and in all events have been ordered stopped so as not to permit Comcast an opportunity to create a mountain out of the proverbial molehill,” the satcaster stated.
Comcast acknowledged that DIRECTV has stopped running the ad, but says it can't be trusted to continue to do so in the future.
