The new markets are: Oklahoma City and Santa Barbara, California.

DIRECTV now offers local HD broadcast channels to 70 percent of U.S. TV households.

The rollout of local HD is part of DIRECTV's plan to expand high-def service and programming over the next year. The satcaster says it will offer 100 national high-def channels by year's end and local HD in 75 markets.
