But Dish sent a letter this week to the House Energy and
Commerce Committee saying it won't have the satellite capacity
to comply until it launches a new satellite in the fourth
quarter of 2012.
DIRECTV has already signed an agreement with the Association of
Public Television Stations to comply with the proposal. But
Multichannel News reports that Dish has been unable to reach a
similar deal with APTS.
Dish now provides standard-def signals of PBS stations in 181
markets.
