DIRECTV Adds Local HD Channels in Mississippi

(October 8, 2009) -- DIRECTV has added local HD channels in the market of Jackson, Mississippi, the company announced.

The satcaster said the following broadcast networks were added in high-def in Jackson:
WAPT/ABC, WJTV/CBS, WRBJ/CW, WDBD/FOX, WLBT/NBC and WMPN/PBS -- all in HD.

DIRECTV now offers local high-def channels in 134 markets, which represents more than 91 percent of U.S. TV households.

To receive DIRECTV's local HD programming, customers must have an H20 or H21 HD receiver or an HR20 or HR21 DIRECTV Plus® HD DVR and a Ka/Ku band dish.
