Washington, D.C. (December 10, 2008) -- DIRECTV has added local High-Definition channels in Tallahassee, Florida market, bringing its local high-def coverage to a total of 116 markets.
The satcaster says the 116 cities with local high-def coverage represents more than 87 percent of U.S. TV households. DIRECTV adds that it will offer local HD channels in 121 cities by year's end.
The local Tallahassee stations now available in HD on DIRECTV are: WCTV/CBS, WTWC/NBC and WTLH/FOX.
If your favorite local station has not been added in one of the new markets, cable and satellite TV providers sometimes can not offer all local channels in their lineups due to compensation disputes with the local stations.
