DIRECTV this year will provide all games in its 'Mega
March Madness' college basketball package in
High-Definition.
The satcaster has been offering the NCAA basketball tournament package for a few years, but this will be the first time that all games will be available in high-def, says DIRECTV spokesman Robert Mercer.
The Mega March Madness package, which costs $69, includes all 64 games in the tournament, which begins next week. There will be no extra charge for the high-def games.

DIRECTV will also offer several interactive features with the package, including "Game Mix," which features up to four broadcasts on a single channel; up-to-the-minute tournament scores and statistics available at the push of a button; and an on-screen tournament bracket that will allow fans to input and track their own game picks.

Greg Oden of top ranked Ohio State.
The interactive features will require a DIRECTV Plus receiver.
The satcaster has signed UCLA basketball coach Ben Howland as the official spokesman for the Mega March Madness package.
“This Mega March Madness service is great, because it allows fans to follow their favorite teams and catch the historic moments as they develop throughout the entire tournament regardless of which city fans reside in," Howland said.
