The high-def network says it
will not air the 'Live From the Red Carpet' show this Sunday.

Washington, D.C. (August 23, 2006) --
INHD says it will not simulcast
this Sunday's 'Live from the Red Carpet' Emmy Awards show
produced by E! Entertainment.
This will be the first time since 2003 that the High-Definition
TV network will not offer the pre-awards show coverage. Live
From the Red Carpet, which features interviews with TV
celebrities before they enter the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium,
will still air in standard definition on E!.
Ellen Cooper, a spokeswoman for INHD, said Wednesday that E!
Entertainment decided not to air the pre-show in HDTV this year.

You won't catch Teri Hatcher's bulging
veins this year in high-def.
Sarah Goldstein, a spokeswoman for E!, said Thursday that the
channel's HD awards coverage is decided on a "case by case
basis." However, she said she could not explain why E! will not broadcast
this year's Emmys pre-awards show in HD after having done so for
three straight years.
With the exit of INHD and E!, HDTV viewers will not be able to see
coverage of the 2006 Emmys in high-def. NBC, which will
broadcast the awards show at 8 p.m. ET, does not plan to show it
in HDTV.
