Washington, D.C. (Nov. 17,
2011) -- Okay, in the past two
weeks here, we've examined the Black Friday deals for 12
retailers. We've even ranked the retailers for the best overall
Black Friday offerings.
But what exactly will be the best individual deals on the big
day? Or, at least for this article, the five best?
Well, TVPredictions.com has analyzed dozens of deals and come up
with the five best -- deals that you don't want to miss on Black
Friday.
But before we disclose our top 5, a little background on Black
Friday:
Retailers traditionally offer
deep discounts on the day after Thanksgiving (Nov. 25 this
year), better known as Black Friday, the unofficial start of the
holiday shopping season. In the weeks leading up to the big day,
web sites such as Bfads.net and BlackFriday.info receive
previews of Black Friday ads that the retailers are planning to
run. And, in some cases, the retailers themselves disclose the
deals.
Will you be
there on Black Friday?
So after reviewing the Black
Friday disclosures to date, here are the five best deals:
5. Flip UltraHD
Camcorder -- $39 at Hhgregg The one-hour
camcorder, which will shoot high-def video, normally goes for
$79 at most retail outlets. But Hhgregg actually has already
slashed the price to $54.99 at its web site so the $39 Black
Friday price is not a huge discount. But try finding it at that
price anywhere else. If you want a small and inexpensive HD
camcorder, this is your deal.
4. Toshiba
Internet TV Blu-ray Player -- $39 at Best Buy and hhgregg
The set-top, model
BDX2150, normally
goes for $79.99 at BestBuy.com and Hhgregg.com. While it doesn't
have Wi-Fi built-in, it is Wi-Fi-ready, meaning that you can
connect a wireless adapter to it and pick up a Net signal from
your home network. And, of course, the device will play both Blu-ray
discs and DVDs.
3.
Westinghouse 46-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV -- $298 at Target
Target.com normally
sells this set for $549 so we're talking serious discount here.
The set, model VR-4625, has a 60 Hz refresh rate and three HDMI
inputs.
2. Dynex 24-inch,
1080p LCD HDTV for $79.99 -- Best Buy
While Dynex is not exactly a big name brand, Best Buy normally
sells this 24-inch set for $229. So on Black Friday, the
retailer will reduce the price by $150 or, if you prefer,
roughly 65 percent. That's a great deal.
1. Sharp
42-inch, 1080p LCD HDTV for $199 -- Best Buy
This one still has
people's tongues wagging. Best Buy doesn't sell this specific
model now online (nor does Amazon) so we don't exactly how much
they're discounting it. But most Sharp 42-inch 1080p LCD sets go
for at least $400-500 at online discount sites so the Best Buy
deal is a true doorbuster worth busting a few doors for.
