3D is awesome. Just think about the possibilities.

Francisco
I visit the Apple Store in downtown San Francisco once in a while, and every time I have gone there, including today, the Apple TV section has been empty. All the other sections (iPods, Mac Books, Mac Book Pros, Mac Minis, iMacs, and Mac Pros) were full of people using them and asking questions. However, even thought the Apple TV was at a prominent section of the store (near the front), nobody was there.

LCD FLAT PANEL HDTV
Plasma is absolutely not as wonderful as a LCD. For example, most people have bought there hdtv's in plasma during 2007 will have a burn in problem sooner or later. Hence if you play video games or like to pause your movies for long periods of time. Then you just made the big mistake of buying a plasma. LCD's are not prone to burn in whatsoever. Plasma tv's also can get screen damage from the magnets on speakers etc. LCD's cannot. Think back to when you were a child, I'm betting you knew atleast one person if not your family who had color distortion (green or purple) somewhere on the tv screen. All LCD flat panel hdtv's are progressive all the time so any picture displayed will be converted in progressive. Contrast is rising rapidly and soon will be just as high as a 10,000 :1 plasma. Then again SED flat tv's if ever produced for the public, will destroy both plasma and LCD's. As for the format war, I'd like it to end quickly so I can start a collection for whichever player becomes the standard. Not to mention the price tag drops. For someone who talks so much about tv's, hdtv, etc. You really wasted your money with your projection tv. Look up all the specs and I'm sure you'll agree.

The picture quality on plasma is much better than LCD, hands down.

DirecTV's old Ku/Mpeg2 HD transmissions 'just the same' as the new Ka/Mpeg4? YOU NEED A NEW TV, or you must have one of those 'newfangled' flat screens (LCD/Plasma) with instantly obvious inferior picture quality to CRTs!!! NO decent video engineer with a set of eyeballs would mistake the overcompressed, HD-Lite signals from the older channels (I'll give the old Discovery HD-Theater a pass as Discovery requires carriers to pass the signal at 100% bit rate), but the new Ka/Mpeg4 channels are superior in just about every way, when given decent source material (live sports, especially). Any comment otherwise simply shows that you didn't take the time to A/B the Baseball Playoffs when they were simulcast on TBS's new Ka/Mpeg4 channel and a Ku/Mpeg2 channel in the 90's. Absolutely beautiful picture on the Ka/Mpeg4, obvious lower quality on the Ku/Mpeg2. Go to your opthamologist soon!

Great video quality on these rants. I'm glued to my chair expecting to see some hooded figure enter the frame, pull out a machetti and praise Allah at the top of his lungs.
