Fox to Launch National Geo Wild In HD

Washington, D.C. (October 16, 2009) -- Fox says it will launch a new HD channel called National Geo Wild next year, according to Multichannel News.

The channel will replace Fox Reality Channel, which the network is expected to discontinue.

Nat Geo Wild, a joint venture between Fox Cable Networks and National Geographic, will focus on nature and wild animal programs. Multichannel News reports that the channel is already available in 50 countries outside the United States, including France and Germany.

Fox will offer the channel in both standard-def and high-def and its programs will be available on VOD services. National Geo Wild is expected to launch on March 31, 2010.
