Dec. 5: Swanni's 10 Hottest Shows In HDTV!

By Swanni

Washington, D.C. (December 5, 2008) -- High-Definition TVs are now in more than 30 million U.S. homes and there are scores of high-def programming choices.

But which shows should you watch? And why?

Every day here at TVPredictions.com, I scan the HD programming aisles and serve up 10 programs so good -- so hot! -- that you can't miss them. Sports, movies, primetime comedies and drama -- they're all there and in beautiful high-def.

We call this list, "The Hottest Shows in HDTV!" And here they are for Friday, December 5, 2008: (All times Eastern -- and don't forget the link below to today's 'HD Hottie -- in fact, today there are three of them!

1. We Are Marshall
Matthew McConaughey stars as the coach of the Marshall University football team which had to rebuild after a tragic plane crash that killed most of the squad. McConaughey restrains himself for a change and Matthew Fox turns in a solid supporting performance as an assistant coach. Based on the real life story, the film delivers the emotional goods. January Jones and Kate Mara (granddaughter of the New York Giants owner) play the obligatory hot wife and girlfriend/cheerleader respectively.

Cinemax, 7:45 p.m.

2. NBA Basketball
Portland at Boston
ESPN, 8 p.m.

3. Ghost Whisperer (new)
Melinda (Jennifer Love Hewitt) discovers a girl who has been missing for 12 years. What, Tabitha Soren is back?!
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Jennifer Love Hewitt.
CBS, 8 p.m.

4. Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Jim Carrey chews the scenery into tiny bits as the semi-loveable Christmas curmudgeon. Anthony Hopkins picks up another check as the film's narrator. Frothy fun for all.
ABC, 8 p.m.

5. College Football
Ball State vs. Buffalo in the Marathon MAC Championship game from Detroit. Actually, I wouldn't suggest a marathon of any kind in Detroit; a quick sprint might be safer, if you read those 'Safest Cities' reports.
ESPN 2, 8 p.m.

6. Lipstick Jungle (new)

Now that NBC has given Lipstick Jungle the kiss-off, the show can tie up some loose ends; and some of the actresses certainly have them; come on, sweeties, invest in a bottle of conditioner. Anyway, tonight, Victory tires to land a new client while Wendy struggles yet again.
NBC, 9 p.m.

7. HDNet Fights
Tonight,
a light heavyweight battle between Roger Hollett and Emanuel Newton.
HDNet, 10 p.m.

8. NUMB3RS (new)
The crew investigates why the office building of a charity organization has been bombed. Well, we can bet that it's not a 'money bomb.'; tough economy, you know.
CBS, 10 p.m.

9. Crash
Dennis Hopper stars in this original series (based on a more original movie by Paul Haggis) about a group of lost souls in LA whose lives are intersected by race and chance. Tonight, Amy and Kenny's marriage takes a turn for the worse. Come on. In LA, a turn for the worse is when you accidently drive onto the 405.
Starz, 10 p.m.

10. The Tonight Show With Jay Leno
Tonight's guest: Cate Blanchett.
NBC, 11:35 p.m.
