Dec. 12: Swanni's 10 Hottest Shows In HDTV!

Washington, D.C. (December 12, 2008) -- High-Definition TVs are now in more than 30 million U.S. homes and there are scores of high-def programming choices.

But which shows should you watch? And why?

Every day here at TVPredictions.com, I scan the HD programming aisles and serve up 10 programs so good -- so hot! -- that you can't miss them. Sports, movies, primetime comedies and drama -- they're all there and in beautiful high-def.

We call this list, "The Hottest Shows in HDTV!" And here they are for Friday, December 12, 2008: (All times Eastern -- and don't forget the link below to today's 'HD Hottie -- in fact, today there are four of them!


1. Grindhouse Presents: Death Proof
Kurt Russell stars in this Quentin Tarantino helmed film about a serial killer whose weapon of choice is a 1957 Chevy. Inspired by the gory drive-in flicks of yesteryear, Death Proof is not for all tastes, but it will rev your engine if you like your entertainment bloody rare. The supporting cast -- and Russell targets -- include the obligatory hotties Rose McGowan, Rosario Dawson and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

2. Alpha Dog
Emile Hirsch shines as a SoCal drug dealer who kidnaps the brother of a wacko client who refuses to pay up. Hirsch plays cold better than ice and Justin Timberlake shows some acting chops as his best friend. House's Olivia Wilde sparkles as Hirsch's obligatory hot girlfriend and Bruce Willis keeps the smirks to a minimum as his Dad. Based on a real life story.

Cinemax, 8 p.m.

3. NBA Basketball
New Orleans at Boston. (Houston at Golden State in the second game of the ESPN doubleheader.)
ESPN, 8 p.m.

4. WWE Friday Night Smackdown!
Triple H takes on Jeff Hardy.
My Network, 8 p.m.

5. Mission Impossible III
Tom Cruise stars in the third in the trilogy based on the 1960s TV series about a group of master spies. Directed by J. J. Abrams, the creator of ABC's Lost. Michelle Monaghan plays Cruise's obligatory hot wife.

TNT, 9 p.m.

6. Lipstick Jungle (new)

Now that NBC has given Lipstick Jungle the kiss-off, the show can tie up some loose ends; and some of the actresses certainly have them; come on, sweeties, invest in a bottle of conditioner. Anyway, tonight, Victory has to decide whether to shed her clothing for a new ad campaign. (Well, that sounds interesting.)

7. HDNet Fights
Tonight,
Ben Rothwell and Mike Russow enter the ring.
HDNet, 10 p.m.

8. NUMB3RS (repeat)
A serial rapist poses as a police officer.
CBS, 10 p.m.

9. Crash
Dennis Hopper stars in this original series (based on a more original movie by Paul Haggis) about a group of lost souls in LA whose lives are intersected by race and chance. Tonight, Ben wants his company back.
Starz, 10 p.m.


10. The Tonight Show With Jay Leno
Tonight's guest: Jamie Foxx.
NBC, 11:35 p.m.
