Friends: The Complete Series Coming to Blu-ray

By Swanni

Washington, D.C. (June 21, 2012) --

Ever wondered what the cute cast of Friends would have looked like in High-Definition? Well, wonder no more. Home Media Magazine reports that Warner Home Video has remastered all 236 episodes in high-def and will include them in a special Blu-ray collection to be available on Nov. 13.

The show, which debuted in 1994 and ended in 2004, starred Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow and David Schwinner. When the show first began, the networks were not shooting in high-def and NBC did not switch the show over to HD in the later years when high-def was first becoming popular.

With remastering, the studio will be able to convert the SD video to HD, which should make the episodes look as if they were filmed in HD in the first place.

Warner says the 21-disc Blu-ray collection will include more than 20 hours of bonus material and the original producer's cut and script for the episode, "The One Where Rachel Tells Ross."

Friends: The Complete Series on Blu-ray will retail for $279.98.
