Survey shows both genders want a flat-screen set.

Washington, D.C. (November 13, 2007) -- Nearly 50 percent of men and more than a third of women want a flat-screen HDTV as a holiday gift.
That's according to a survey by Circuit City, as reported by TWICE Magazine.
The numbers reflect the growing interest in High-Definition TV among women. A few years ago, surveys showed that high-def was largely a male-dominated category.
However, the introduction of the flat-screen set, which can add style to the home without busting the household budget, has attracted female buyers as well.
The Circuit City study showed that 46 percent of men said a flat-panel set was their top holiday gift choice, compared to 36 percent of women. That was the top gift choice for each gender.
The study, which was based on interviews with more than 3000 people, also found that electronics far surpassed any other category as a gift choice category. Sixty-five percent of men chose electronics first while 41 percent of women did so.
Clothing was second with 15 percent of men and 24 percent of women.
