HDNet to Air Space Shuttle Launch In HD

Washington, D.C. (November 15, 2009) -- HDNet on Monday will offer live coverage of the launch of the Space Shuttle Atlantis, Mission STS-129, to the International Space Station.

The high-def network will begin the coverage at 2 p.m. ET Monday (November 16) with the scheduled launch of the Atlantis set for 2:28 p.m. ET.

The Atlantis and its crew will begin the last phase of space shuttle flights, carrying large equipment and extra stocks of supplies for the day when the shuttle is no longer making deliveries to space.

Atlantis will deliver two control moment gyroscopes, equipment and EXPRESS Logistics Carrier 1 and 2-about 28,000 pounds of supplies and spare parts for International Space Station. 
 
Atlantis also will return station crew member Nicole Stott to Earth and is slated to be the final space shuttle crew rotation flight.
